Hoy es viernes… Y se nos acaba Agosto… no se os ha pasado volando? Para mí ha sido un suspiro…solo espero que Septiembre nos de tregua y el fresco tarde en llegar… El post de hoy es un poco diferente, y es que está dedicado a LA RIOJA…Como ya os he comentado esta semana he ido a pasar unos días allí, al maravilloso pueblo de Valgañon, un pueblecito de la Rioja escondido entre las montañas pero con una riqueza gastronómica increíble, del cual nos hemos enamorado al igual que de la hospitalidad y lo bien que nos han tratado Feli y Jesus, padres de mi gran amiga Carmina…Mil gracias por todo.
El plan ha sido perfecto un grupo de amigos que han ido a pasar unos días a las fiestas del pueblo y al final a parte de pasárnoslo genial nos hemos enamorado de el pueblo. La primera parada fue Logroño, donde estuvimos de vinos y pinchos, a cual más bueno, y donde visitamos la ciudad… y justo después nos fuimos a Valgañon… Allí nos alojamos en La Casona del Pastorwww.lacasonadelpastor.com, una increíble casa rural que no le faltaba ni el más mínimo detalle, y donde disfrutamos de su maravilloso desayuno con productos hechos por ellos: torrijas, mermelada casera, rosquillas, tortilla…. Todo riquísimo…Gracias Jonathan por ser tan buen anfitrión, seguro que volveremos ! Lo más curioso es que la fiesta se llama La Patatada… Y en qué consiste os preguntaréis? Pues en algo bastante peculiar… todo el pueblo , incluidos los extranjeros, van al pilón de la plaza a pelar 800 kilos de patatas ni más ni menos… para después hacer la cena que el plato no podría ser otro que… Patatas a la Riojana … Tal y como podéis ver todos estuvimos pelando patatas casi todo el dia…que trabajo más duro!! Después por la noche esta todo el mundo invitado a un plato de patatas a la riojana, vino y pacharán…
It's Friday ... And we just August ... It has flown by so fast? For me it was like a breath of fresh air... just hope in September and the cool late evenings ...
Today's post is a bit different, and it is dedicated to The Rioja ... as I was telling you at the beginning of this week as I spent a few days there, the wonderful people of Valgañon as it’s a village in the Rioja hidden right in the mountains but with a great gastronomic wealth, which we all loved the hospitality and we had a great time and we were treated so well by Feli and Jesus, who are the parents my great friend Carmina ... Many thanks for everything.
The plan was perfect as we were a group of friends who have gone to spend a few days at a village festival and the end result was perfect and we all really enjoyed ourselves; we also loved all the people. The first stop was Logroño, where we had some wine and snacks, each as good where we visited in the city ... and then we went onto Valgañon ... There we stayed at La Casona del Pastor www.lacasonadelpastor.com it was an amazing house not lacking even the slightest detail, and there we also enjoyed their wonderful breakfast with products made by them: toast, homemade jam, bagels, tortillas .... All delicious ... Thank you Jonathan for being a good host, we will go back for sure!
The strange thing is that the party is called The Patatada ... And what is this you may ask? Well into something quite peculiar ... all the people, including foreigners, go to the square pylon 800 kilos of potatoes unpeeled nothing less ... and then make the dinner plate could not be other than ... Potatoes Rioja ... As you can see we were all peeling potatoes almost all day ... I have never worked so hard! Later that night everybody invited to a potato dish Rioja, wine and gin ...
